If they are unwilling to show any past photos, or if they do not have any, then it is possible that they may be hiding something. Costs are not what is important here so try to find someone who knows exactly what is happening in the way of new styles of posing or such.

Take, for example, someone who is familiar with video filming. Many programs on computer set ups will be able to manipulate the film to some extent and add some kinds of special effects after the event is over. It can even lighten or darken shots that were not fully exposed so that faces or silhouettes will stand out more. With this in mind, make it clear to the photographer what is, and what is not expected of him when he goes away to prepare the photos.
