Generally, almost all women would have had to deal with abusive men during some point of their lives..It is important that where abusive men are concerned, to realize that not only men who are physically abusive but even those who are emotionally abusive tend to fall into this category by definition. Generally men who are alcoholics, who have aggressive personalities, who are insecure, self obsessed and who have poor skills when it comes to building and maintaining relationships could tend to be abusive. They try to make women fell inferior continuously and try to project themselves as far superior.
Some tend to think that only women in rural, undeveloped areas tend to suffer due to abusive men. This is a big misconception. Statistics point out that two thirds of married women at least once in their lifetime tend to be subjected to domestic violence. The recent famously publicized case where a celebrity was physically assaulted by her boyfriend shows that not only women who are financially dependent on their male partners tend to be victims of abusive men, but women almost everywhere have to endure this problem.
Generally it is difficult to address the problem of abusive men as most women are unwilling to admit that their partners are abusive.Often this may be due to the fear of the other partner, although some women would forgive their partner and accept their apologies after the abusing behavior. Disregarding this form of behavior only promotes it and it is also the obligation of friends, relatives and neighbors to inform about abusive men.Failure to do so would very easily result in a tragedy and the ones who could have intervened to stop it would have to live with it for the rest of their lives.
Abusive men not only harm their female partners but also tend to psychologically harm their children by displaying abusive behavior in front of the children. These children may show signs of depression, low self esteem and could even turn out to be abusive themselves.
The majority of abusive men signs are most likely those who had unhappy childhoods and those who were victims of child abuse. Guidance and help is needed for these people to overcome their past experiences and trying to conceal these issues is not an answer. There are many governmental and private establishments that could help abusive men and their loved ones to overcome their problems and it is a good idea to get professional guidance regarding such issues.
